Lazy bastard.
I ment to post this some time in January when I planted my chilli seeds. Now at least 2 months down the line i’m finally updating it.
These are the chilli varieties i’m growing this year:
- Ring of Fire – Grew these last year, last minute and they totally rocked. Got some more free seeds this year, so making sure I have at least 5 or 6 plants of these.
- Bhut Jolokia – Hottest chilli in the world… Having some of that.
- Fatalli – Super Hot African chilli. Germinated about 5 seeds, all are growing much slower than the rest of my plants.
- Super Hot Thai – The name says it all. hhhhheeeeeyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh.
- Espanola – Medium hot, growing these to make some chilli ristras for Christmas presents.
- Birds Eye – None of the 10 seeds I had germinated. Knobs.
- Joes Long – Last year these grew to about 20cm. I want them longer this year, although I only planted the seeds 2 weeks ago.
- Hinklehatz Yellow – Going to pickle these.
Most of the seeds were germinated in rockwool cubes, some were put in seedling compost and some into peat seed plugs. Germinating in rockwool 90% of seeds came through within 2 weeks. Still unsure if peat plugs are worth the 5p they cost.
I have since potted most plants into compost, about 6 have gone into DWC hydroponics to see if I can get big ass mutant plants like last year.
That. Is. All.
